Register of Electors
The Electoral Registration Officer is required to get in touch with every household to check the Electoral Register is up to date, and to identify any residents who should be registered but are currently missing. This Annual Canvass has now started in Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde council areas. We can now contact you by email, telephone or by letter.
It doesn't matter where you were born. If you are aged 16 or over you are eligible to vote in elections in Scotland, but only if you register to vote first. With all nationalities now able to vote in Scottish Parliament and Council elections, this will be an important opportunity to ensure these new voters register to vote before next year's Council elections.
We are currently conducting a door to door canvass for electors who have not responded to our initial communications to confirm the household information for Electoral purposes. We have also issued canvass communications by post. Please check the information and respond via internet, following the steps outlined in the letter at https://www.registersecurely.com/rvjb
or post the completed form using the envelope provided.
Any new residents to be added during the canvass will also be required to complete a registration application. You can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
or we will issue an invitation to register form to be completed and returned
Remember, you need to be registered before you can vote, To ensure you do not lose out on having your voice heard on decisions that affect you, make sure your electoral registration details are up to date.
