Electoral Registration

If you have made an application to go on the Register of Electors, your application will be dealt with, and an acknowledgement will be issued. If you require to make an application, you can do so online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

You need to be registered before you can vote.  To ensure you do not lose out on having your voice heard on decisions that affect you, make sure your electoral registration details are up to date.

Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rating Appeals

If you have a case cited for a Valuation Appeal Committee hearing, our surveyors will be in touch to attempt to progress your appeal.  If you wish to speak to a member of the valuation team to progress an appeal cited for a hearing, please telephone 0300 300 0150.

If you have lodged a non-domestic rating appeal through the SAA portal www.saa.gov.uk, you will receive an automatic acknowledgement to indicate the appeal has been received. A formal acknowledgement will be issued.

Council Tax

If you have a new domestic property which requires to be added to the Council Tax List, we will endeavour to process this as soon as practicable but if a physical inspection is required, this can only be carried out if it is safe for our staff to do so and in line with the Scottish Government Guidelines.

If you have lodged a proposal against your domestic property’s council tax band through the SAA portal www.saa.gov.uk, you will receive an automatic acknowledgement to indicate the appeal has been received and a formal acknowledgement will be issued.
